Uses
- It is used to clean out the gastrointestinal tract.
- Polyethylene glycol-electrolyte solution cleanses the bowel.

DosingHow to take
- Do not eat solid food 2 to 4 hours before starting this drug.
- Chill the solution to improve taste.
- Do not add flavorings.
- Works best if each portion is drunk quickly.
- Colyte®; GaviLyteT-C; GaviLyteT-G; GaviLyteT-N; GoLYTELY®; NuLytely®; TrilyteT: Drink 1 glass every 10 minutes until all is gone or rectal fluid is clear.
- MoviPrep®: May have clear liquids or plain yogurt for dinner. Finish 1 hour before starting this drug. Mix pouch A and pouch B in container provided. Add warm water. Mix solution. Repeat for second dose. Finish drug and clear liquids 1 hour before exam.
- Split dose:
- Evening dose: Drink 1 glass (8 ounces) of solution every 15 minutes until gone. Then drink 2 glasses (16 ounces) of clear fluid.
- Morning dose: Repeat evening dose. Then drink 2 glasses (16 ounces) of clear liquid.
- Full dose:
- Evening dose (6PM): Drink 1 glass (8 ounces) of solution every 15 minutes until gone.
- 7:30 PM: Repeat 6 PM dose. Then drink 4 glasses (32 ounces) of clear liquid.
Missed Dose
- Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
- If it is close to time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal time.
- Do not take two doses or extra doses.
Storage
- Store powder at room temperature.
- Store liquid Colyte®, GaviLyteT-C, GaviLyteT-G, GaviLyteT-N, GoLYTELY®, NuLYTELY®, and TriLyteT in a refrigerator. Throw away any unused portion after 2 days.
- Store liquid MoviPrep® in a refrigerator. Throw away any unused portion after 1 day.

Safety
Warnings
- Please read the medication guide.
Avoid
- If you have an allergy to polyethylene glycol or any other part of this drug.
- Tell healthcare provider if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs involved.
- If you have slow movement through the intestines or a blockage in the gastrointestinal tract.
Precautions
- All products:
- Check drugs with healthcare provider. This drug may not mix well with other drugs.
- If you have bowel disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, talk with healthcare provider.
- If you have heart failure, talk with healthcare provider.
- If you have kidney disease, talk with healthcare provider.
- If you have liver disease, talk with healthcare provider.
- If you have seizures, talk with healthcare provider.
- Tell healthcare provider if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant.
- Tell healthcare provider if you are breast-feeding.
- MoviPrep®:
- If you have PKU, talk with healthcare provider. This product (MoviPrep®) contains phenylalanine.
- Be careful if you have G6PD deficiency. Anemia may occur.
Side Effects
- Anal irritation.
- Belly pain.
- Bloating.
- Nausea or vomiting. Small frequent meals, frequent mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help.
- Feeling tired or weak.
Monitoring
- Change in health problem being treated. Is it better, worse, or about the same?
- Follow up with healthcare provider.
Contact a healthcare provider
- If you suspect an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away.
- Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue skin color; fits; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- If you are unable to drink the solution.
- Severe dizziness or passing out.
- Severe nausea or vomiting.
- Severe belly pain.
- Severe headache.
- Unable to pass urine.
- Any rash.
- Health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
General Statements
- If you have a very bad allergy, wear allergy ID at all times.
- Do not share your drugs with others and do not take anyone else's drugs.
- Keep all drugs out of the reach of children and pets.
- Most drugs can be thrown away in household trash after mixing with coffee grounds or kitty litter and sealing in a plastic bag.

- Keep a list of all your drugs (prescription, natural products, supplements, vitamins, OTC) with you. Give this list to healthcare provider (doctor, nurse, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, physician assistant).

- Talk with healthcare provider before starting any new drug, including OTC, natural products, or vitamins.
